Authentic self

“Just imagine becoming the way you used to be as a very young child, before you understood the meaning of any word, before opinions took over your mind. The real you is loving, joyful, and free. The real you is just like a flower, just like the wind, just like the ocean, just like the sun.”

  1. I think of this often, the ‘real’ person we are lies beneath layers of conditioning. Once realized, it is a process of peeling back each of those layers. Easier said, than done, however!

    1. I often get a lot of wise reminders from the teenager in the house. He’s talking about life as if he’s 80 years old. “The good old days” when he could just be/exist. Living in the now and no fears of tomorrow and absolutely no worries about life or what anyone thinks of him. Living happy and free as he says 🙂

      1. Lucky you to have a wise one telling it as he sees it. I have great hope for the world with kids like this coming into it!

  2. Beautiful photo Ladygrace33 – I found myself gazing into it for quite some time… lost in tranquility, nearly becoming that child again. Great quote to go along with the pic. That’s why I disappear into the silence as often as I can… to find the child… to become the flower… (okay, probably a weed) but still able to feel the gently breeze upon my face… Thanks for sharing with us and your photography is wonderful. Hope your Saturday is filled with beautiful moments…
